These include five full-length collections of poems, City of Strange Brunettes (1998), Chantal's Book(2002), To Terezin (2007), Celanie (2012) and A Clearer View of the Hinterland (2014), as well as three novels, a novella and two books of short fiction. He has also edited a number of books and literary magazines, including (with Jan Kemp) the three-volume audio/text anthology Classic, Contemporary and New NZ Poets in Performance (AUP, 2006-2008). In 2014 he succeeded Alistair Paterson as Managing Editor of Poetry NZ. He has a PhD in English from Edinburgh University, and works as a Senior Lecturer in Creative Writing at Massey University's Albany campus.
Daniel Fyles is an English northerner, now running a rural NZ business which encompasses his two great loves: web-based IT applications & pixel-dodging letterpress printing. He loves the former for its ever-fluid flexibility, the latter for its long history of social revolution, its comprehensible technology and its simple physical impact on beautiful paper.
